In this world, Shadowhunters is just a book series. However, this book series is like a lifeline to a young transman named Kane Isabel Morgan. See, Kane lost his parents at a very young age, 4 years old to be exact, and has been living with his court-appointed guardians for the last thirteen years. These guardians do not like Kane, mainly because he wears a Greenstone Pounamu necklace passed down to him by his father, as well as a simple leather stip necklace that has one of the first rings that his father ever got for his mother on it, as well as the Morgenstern ring from the Shadowhunters series after his eighteenth birthday. Kanes' guardians beat him because of his necklaces and the fact that he remembers his parents, despite being so young when they died. They never beat him where the bruises will show, wanting to keep up their image. Valentine Morgenstern is the leader of a local motorbike gang/mafia known only as The Circle. His pride and joy is his son, Jonathan Morgenstern. Jonathans' mother, Jocelyn Morgenstern neè Fairchild divorced Valentine for his old friend Luke not long after Jonathan was born. Jocelyn gave up her parental rights and disappeared with Luke. So, Valentine has raised Jonathan alone, teaching him to be kind, compassionate, but have a ruthless streak. What will happen when Kanes' guardians end up owing money to Valentine and Jonathan? What will happen if they take Kane to force his guardians to pay up? What if they find out the truth about Kane?
