Hello, this is my expansion and dissection of the 'Iceberg Theory' or 'theory of omission' of writing, commonly known as the 'Iceberg Method' or 'Iceberg Technique'. It was first developed by Ernest Hemingway in the 1920s. It's one of the foundations of creative writing -- fantasy, science fiction, or otherwise.

My telling of the dungeons and dragons story "Hoard of the Dragon Queen" the main character is a goliath barbarian named Gharhak StormFist. Making up his crew is a Half orc Paladin named Munar, an Air Genasi Rogue named Tempest and a Tortle Druid named Sialett.

When Aniella, an esteemed leader in Firn, one of the many rebel camps opposed to the rule of King Rane of Lentia, ventures on her own to find three young Observers to appoint into her ranks, danger lurks at every turn, and the Nightwalkers, loyal to the King and hunting for Aniella, will stop at nothing to stamp out her small resistance.

Here, joy is a fragile madness, and wonder comes laced with dread. It's not a story of light or shadow-but of a realm where both dance, inseparable, in every breath the world takes."

A fortune teller hires a teenager to work for them on a tourist island.

They call me a mage of light, but light has never truly belonged to me. What lives in my chest is no gift, it is a curse. A mark that burns, binding me to powers I cannot control, a mark that the Shadow Herald himself hunts, whispering that one day it will consume me whole. I should have told Kael. I should have told him long ago, before the secrets turned into chains of their own. But how could I confess, to the boy who fights at my side, who smiles as if I were his sun, when every truth I hold could shatter what we have? The Heart of Dawn was supposed to save us. Instead, it revealed me. At the Academy of Eldoria, shadows slipped past ancient wards, and students fell screaming. In my desperation, I burned myself nearly to death to keep them safe. Now Kael, Calista, Thorne, even little Vivi, they fight beside me, yet I wonder how long they'll stay once they learn the whole truth. This is not a tale of chosen heroes. It is a tale of a cursed girl who wields light with shaking hands, and who loves with a heart chained in shadow.

In this modern epic poem, a young hero journeys across The Mycillian towards The Heartwood of the world tree, Orgonia, in search of his missing wife.

I know the original Medusa story is how Athena cursed her because she was with Zeus, blah blah blah. This was a story I wrote in 5th grade when I didn't know Greek mythology. Bear with me.
