This novel takes place in Washington D.C, USA. It revolves around the life of the Maddens which seems to be a normal, stereotypical family. However, behind closed doors, they are secretly working as an undercover Mafia. And directly parallel to the Romanovs. A leading mafia family from Russia who were originally royals by ancestry, but turned down the role for blood. The two families were terrific rivals, shooting blood shot eyes and evil frowns at one another whenever they met. However, amongst all this rivalry, the eldest Romanov daughter and Madden son who were (oddly friends at the beginning) seemed to have an usual connection of love brewing among them.
