Athena is one of the last Skin Changers alive, she doesn't change into a natural everyday animal though. She shifts into a dragon. (She looks like Drogon from Game of Thrones) She was invited by Gandalf to reclaim Erebor with the dwarves and one hobbit. She finds love, with the most unexpected dwarf. (Dwalin is my favorite character from The Hobbit so I decided to give him a lover in this story)
