Author's Note: This story was written during my college days as part of a Creative Writing class activity. Our teacher challenged us with a "What If" prompt, asking us to continue or reimagine a part of Zeus' mythology using at least one original character from Greek myth. This is my take on it - a story of a mortal woman, an unsuspecting night, and the son she raised alone. ALMOST IS NEVER ENOUGH - from the song, ALMOST, I heard on the radio that made me shed a thousand tears.. Again. Yes, because I remembered YOU, CHOLO. My CHOLO, my ALMOST.

Meeting someone again after a long time

This is a poem I wrote for the Addiction themed poetry contest on Wattpad.

A man, recollecting his memories with his former girlfriend Jamie, encounters another woman asking for hot chocolate -- Jamie's favorite drink.

...when the sun rise, I'm gonna be the new version of myself and when it sets, I'm gonna leave you behind.

"I know that someday, sometime, we’d see each other again." Those were the very words he has written in that piece of paper. Those words, along with my memories of that night, were the only reminders of who I’ve met and who I hopefully hoped with my whole heart, will be a part of my future.  Are you having doubts about this? Honestly, I am too. I mean, who would entrust their destiny to luck and chance right? Two fickle things, no one really knows and yet I dare hope that luck and chance are on my side. On our side.
