Someone she feels comfortable to talk completely honestly with. So when they say they're going away for a few weeks, Rae's down, she's gonna miss them. Who would she argue about Oasis with? Little does she know that Archie's friend Finn who's coming to visit isn't the stranger he seems to be..........

Warning: Mild sexual references My Mad Fat Diary discription: Set in Stamford, Lincolnshire in the mid-1990s, My Mad Fat Diary follows the story of 16-year-old, 16 stone (105 kg) (224 lb) girl, Rae Earl, who has just left a psychiatric hospital, where she has spent four months. She begins to reconnect with her best friend, Chloe, who is unaware of Rae's mental health and body image problems, believing she was in France for the past four months. Rae attempts to keep this information from her while also trying to impress Chloe's friends Finn, Archie, Izzy and Chop.

Unos años atrás, las películas de romance se apoderaron de mi mente, por lo tanto, mis expectativas estaban puestas en aquellas escenas de navidad en las que las parejas se encuentran cerca del calor abrazador emanado de un enorme y llamativo fogón, de las mantas, chocolate caliente y las miradas cómplices. Sentía que llegaría un chico "salvador" que haría que mi vida fuera menos mediocre, que cambiaría todos los esquemas al punto de romperlos. Finalmente, en ese momento, todo tendría sentido. ¿Con qué me encontré? Bueno, no quiero dar nombres porque eso es de mala educación, pero, Noah Levington fue un total patán. ¿Esa escena de "El diario de una princesa" en el que Mia se queja de que su pie no hizo pop? Bueno, todo lo que hizo pop fue mi ánimo en decaimiento cuando el chico intentó que estuviéramos en la parte de atrás de su automóvil. De ensueño, ¿verdad? Todo lo que una chica desea. Oh, y... Leroy Monroe, ese ganó la lotería cuando desapareció justo después de que tuviéramos relaciones sexuales. Días y noches esperando un llamado, sin mencionar los llamados que yo, chica-sin-dignidad, realicé. Por cierto, no hubo velas ni pétalos de rosas. Malditas películas de amor. Así hay una larga, cansadora y triste lista de chicos que forman parte de aquello que se llama "casi pero no". Hasta que llegamos al presente. Actualmente, sigo mirando películas románticas, pero definitivamente ya no las veo como una posibilidad. También aprendí que yo necesito crecer, necesito saber estar conmigo antes de estar con alguien, y además... me quedé sin renglones para agregar más nombres.
