Ash and Goh met each other through a pen-pal program set up by their schools when they were seven years old. Ash has no idea what Goh looks like, or his name, or even his gender. Completely in love with someone he's never met, Ash is torn between asking to meet up and taking the risk that they won't like each other in person, and keeping that magic bond alive through the letters alone forever. Goh and Ash have finally decided to travel to the Kalos Region! Ash is especially excited about this, some of his closest friends live there. They both think that they are only going to be in Kalos for a few days but, due to team rocket, the planes have stopped working and won't be fixed until a few months. Seeing Ash's confused look he couldn't help but feel frustration begin to grow, pressing rows of teeth against each other before opening his mouth again. ------ In which Gou is scared Ash will leave him, and Ash decides to show some vulnerability. ------ This can be interpreted as either platonic or romantic!
