5 years. That is how long Jack has been traveling through space. Finding and exploring all kinds of places. Meeting all kinds of species from eyeless all tooth monsters, to elegant snake like beings. Space can be a place where adventures start, but at the same time also an endless birthplace for danger. Jack survived his five years in space, and now that he's finally reunited with his family, he tells stories about all the adventures he had. ___this is just a short story for a contest.

It was supposed to be an easy mission, just gathering information. Yet, it turned out to be so much more than that. Old enemies turned allies when faced with the unknown. All of that happened to the Space Titanic crew since the moment they left Earth, five years before. Their space exploration became much more than they bargained for, and yet perhaps just what they needed to mend old bridges.

A battle-weary spacefarer travels the Universe on a stolen Battlestar, the Hiryu, searching for a world of peace. This little account tells of his misadventures as he helps the natives of three different planets in their quests, oblivious to their nefarious intentions. Summer camp in a tiny Nigerian forest, by some twist of fate, pours these eccentric personalities right under the same roof for the second time and while it should be a splendid event with promising entreaties and fun, it is not so rosy with a handful of caustic and downright callous secrets and grudges being laid out in the open for all to hear - including the happiness thief. Five friends may just realize that their former relationship had been but a coat of chocolate on scorpions or had it been chocolate and scorpions? This sixpence may finally understand why they were unknowningly ecstatic to sever contacts from one another and why they should leave it that way.
