A few years ago, someone that I deeply cared about broke my heart. This person took everything that I loved about myself, without meaning to of course, and shattered it - effectively ruining how I viewed myself. It was a toxic relationship from the start, but it wasn't until we parted ways completely that I was able to see them for who they were. This poem is about my journey after we parted ways and how I began to figure out who I was without them.
