Joe Harrison wants to spend a romantic Valentine's Day with his boyfriend Dan. Unfortunately, something unforeseen happens... This short story was written for the "Valentine's Day Contest" that was organised by FreeTheLGTB.

I guess this is less of a story and more of a journal. I'm going nuts in my head with my sexuality and aspects of my life and past, so I may as well get it out on the screen.

It was a cold night and you were knocking at the door. You needed help and I was always there for you. You took me as your friend, but I felt more than that. I was afraid that you'd judge me for it. I never showed you the scars I hid behind long sleeves. You also never saw the pillow dirty from mascara and wet from tears. But even through all of that I hoped its going to end like a fairy tale and we'll live together happily ever after.

They keep telling me that I should just let her go, let that night rest and move on with my life. They don't realise that I still wake up in the middle of the night, sobbing for Chance and sobbing for myself and sobbing for the fucked-up world with all the fucked-up people that we're supposed to live with and live through. They don't realise that I will never be able to let Chance go. ꧁꧂ One night is all it took for Rory Brewer's life to be changed forever. The most important person in Rory's life has disappeared, and now he doesn't know how to find his way without her -- or how to find her either, for that matter.
