For the Girl I Was is not just a collection of poems - it's a resurrection. These words are stitched together from the fragments of who I used to be: the soft girl who dreamed too loudly, loved too deeply, and broke quietly. Each poem is a conversation I have with her through my pens - a whisper, an apology, a thank you. It's about remembering the pain without letting it define me, and learning that growth doesn't erase the past; it transforms it. This book is a homecoming - for every version of me I once abandoned to survive. And maybe, in these verses, you'll find pieces of the girl you were too.

Sereiah Gastrell is an ordinary teenage girl carrying burdens far heavier than most people know. While helping manage her grandparents' beach resort, she juggles responsibility, heartbreak, and the quiet wounds left by years of bullying in high school. Underestimated and labeled weak because she never fights back, Sereiah has learned to endure in silence. With their parents separated and living new lives of their own, she and her little brother, Marcus, were left in the care of their grandparents, forcing Sereiah to grow up far too soon as a protective older sister. Whenever life becomes too heavy, she escapes into memories of childhood, when she once believed in fairytales, legends, and mermaids. Now older and wiser, she dismisses them as foolish fantasies. Her only real comfort is Theo Delmar, her best friend and the one person who has stayed by her side. Between his after-class side jobs and their stolen moments together, Theo is the only friendship Sereiah has ever truly known. But one lonely evening by the shore, everything she thought she knew begins to unravel. Out of the waves emerges something impossible. Not a shark. Not a trick of the tide. But a tale made flesh. Handsome, mysterious, and utterly unreal, he is no mermaid, but a merman named Cresswell. And he needs her help. Why would a mythical creature seek out an ordinary girl? What danger follows him from the sea? And when fantasy crashes into her broken reality, will Sereiah dare to answer the call? Some legends do not stay buried beneath the waves afterall.

This is not a love story. It's a series of moments we never learned how to talk about. This series is for those who loved deeply, lost quietly, and kept growing without knowing when healing began. For people who look fine on the outside but carry unanswered questions within themselves. Each part explores a different emotion-love that arrives softly, pain that lingers longer than expected, healing that doesn't come in straight lines, and growth that happens when you think you're breaking. The characters may change. The situations may shift. But the feelings remain familiar. Some parts are connected by people. Some are connected only by silence, longing, and the courage to move forward. This series isn't about perfect endings. It's about understanding yourself a little better with every chapter. If you've ever felt too much, said too little, and still chose to grow- this series is for you.

Not every coming-of-age story is soft. Some cut deep. Some stay silent. Some never heal. The Adulting Series follows young Zimbabwean women standing at the edge of adulthood - where pressure is constant, choices are heavy, and mistakes don't disappear. Between desire and shame, love and survival, identity and expectation, each story uncovers the private battles hidden behind ordinary lives. These are not perfect journeys. These are real ones. Raw. Emotional. Uncomfortably familiar. You might see yourself in these pages.

I am a 25y/o cis female and I will never give birth to a child. I may or may not adopt, but having a child is not high on my list of priorities. Why? Because in a world that does not have more space for people, where the water is poisoned and the air choked out, where there are hundreds of simultaneous wars on the physical as well as mental and emotional realms, money is increasingly more difficult to make, and where being a female feels like a curse- I would rather die than bring another life into this doomed aftermath of humanity. How do I explain my love for someone who does not ever exist? How do I explain the amount of sincerity and thought that I have put into making this decision? So here are the things that I would want my unborn daughter to know, the one who never existed and never will. Some things might just end up being things that you needed to hear. Regardless, I love you. I know it's difficult being alive in this timeline, but we'll get through this.

Between exams, bus rides, hospital postings, friendships, overthinking, music, dreams of leaving the country, and feelings she never says out loud - this journal holds the little pieces of her life. Some days are soft. Some days are lonely. Some days feel too heavy. This is not a perfect story with dramatic plot twists. Just a girl trying to survive adulthood while chasing the life she dreams of. A late-night collection of thoughts, memories, chaos, heartbreak, comfort songs, and the quiet hope that one day everything will make sense.

*A Girl Made of Seasons* is not just a poetry collection - it is a journey through silence, survival, and self-discovery. In these raw and hauntingly honest poems, Humera Mansoori gives voice to the emotions many girls are taught to hide - the pain of being unheard, the quiet strength of enduring, and the fire that refuses to be extinguished. From the moment a girl is born into a world that didn't wait for her, to the day she learns to carry storms within her smile - each poem captures a season of her becoming. This book is for every girl who has ever felt invisible... and still chose to rise. If you've ever been silenced, misunderstood, or torn between who you are and who the world wants you to be - you will find yourself in these pages. Because some stories are not told loudly. They are felt. And once felt... they never leave.
