Geese Stories

Bernard the goose navigator is having some problems migrating his flock Southwards. It's early November and his gaggle is still northward. He's a goose, though. What would you expect? Bronwyn, the geese-watching girl, observes the gaggle's many issues and deals with a few of her own like the classy Jason and the obsessive goose-hunter Mack, who threatens the flock. Can Bernard move his flock in time before Mack or the elements get to them? (An exploration of goose culture.) The chapters may significantly vary in length.

This is an Ode to the Summer of 2012. My inspiration for the scenes in the poem come from a day spent at Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline Park in Oakland, CA. I saw three goslings on a walk yesterday. I wrote this with the amusing encounter in mind.

Living in a grand mansion, the Wellington family lived a life of luxury with their daughter, loyal pets, trusted friends, and a vast group of maids and butlers. One fateful day, the tranquility was shattered when mysterious incidents began unfolding within Kingston. Roe is a cutpurse, a pick pocket, a thief. He is not well known because he moves from town to town without notice, his luck is bad, and his future seems worse. The first has abandoned Kedan. It saw how the mortals have treated his gift to them. They had not learned from his lords of past. They can not work in harmony. The lords have not given up yet. For years, they have been searching for the eight. Mortals they choose to reform in their own eye, and they complete tasks, showing once again that there is hope for the first's world. Becoming one of the Eight is a honor, and a great privilege. Their life is more important than a king's. A spot in the eight has been opened. One was false. Without eight, there is nothing, and the first is shown one more display of how dishonest it's world has become. The spot must be filled. But that is out of anyone's hands, and the lady of betrayal chooses for herself who will serve her.
