Jonathan and Charlie form a close relationship, especially after Charlie shows Jonathan the Shadowhunters TV series, and how his life would've turned out, had Azazel hit the mark. When Lilith comes to check on her son, she finds he has a very loyal protector now. When she recognizes Charlie as one of the children her and Lucifer routinely watch over, and have done since Charlie was a child. Then, when the TMI gang comes to see Jonathan, Charlie makes it clear that Jonathan will not be leaving unless he wants too.
