When Sarah Fenton is recruited out of her orphanage into a mysterious government program, she doesn’t realize she’s becoming a central figure in a three-way civil war. When Nick Lal receives a powerful brain implant for his birthday, he doesn’t realize it will make him a social outcast and enemy of the state. The world Sarah and Nick grew up in is transforming at catastrophic speed as neurally enhanced youths called Aeons rise to become global oligarchs. The Aeons quickly use their superior intellects and technology to dominate the world economy. Soon Sarah and Nick find their lives revolving around Laura Mayer, the charismatic and brilliant leader of the Aeons. But is Laura working to save humanity from self-assured destruction, as she maintains to Nick? Or is she a manipulative psychopath, as Sarah’s military handlers insist? The United States is torn three ways by a power struggle between the decrepit political institutions in Washington, the destabilizing technology of the Aeons, and a religious revolution in Texas. Soon, Nick and Sarah find themselves serving opposing factions. Will they be able to bridge the chasms of distrust that separate them and save the country from collapse? False Idols is the first novel in the Aeon science fiction trilogy by Alexis Grove.

A world built to be perfect. A fragile balance hides its imperfection. Jinwu and Meilin. A connection that should not exist, in a universe ruled by strict laws. An anomaly that breaks the system, like a flower breaking through concrete. Two solitudes meet above a sea of artificial lights. And nothing will ever be the same again. A science fiction story about human imperfection. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This project is an open laboratory. Each chapter is a stage of growth: the story takes shape as I learn how to shape it myself. It is not yet a finished work, but a fertile ground where ideas, characters, and emotions can germinate. With time, every page will be refined and enriched, until it blooms into its final form. In the meantime, I hope this "blooming" version will still give you a spark of excitement and discovery. This version was translated using Word's built-in automatic translator. I'll revise it gradually, so some parts may still sound rough or unusual. Thank you for your patience - and for reading.

Subject Trotter is what most people would call a monster. In the underground depths of a top secret government facility in Utah, Arthur Holmes is forced to comply in an interbreeding experiment with other mammals of different species, to produce a first-generation species of hybridized automatons, with the intention of being used for their animalistic instincts and human intellect, as slaves in the crashing farming industry. With the growing hazards brought to the world's wildlife by pesticides, this method of going about the problem is controversial, but it is the only somewhat feasible way to prevent the world's soil from becoming useless due to mankind's several mistakes. Project Trotter is a third-generation product of man breeding with fox, and with his sly instinct and sharp wit, he is more quick to learn of his surroundings than his humanoid companions. With the government's attempts to make their subjects more functional, by teaching them to speak English, immunizing them to common diseases, formalizing their appetites, and preparing them to become used to hard labor, Trotter finds himself realizing his surroundings, and shortly after, he plots and executes his escape. From there, he runs. He runs as fast as he can go, and as long as he can manage, until he finds himself lost in the neighboring state of Wyoming. As his hunger grows, he finds his intellect and instinct at war as he ponders killing and eating a cow on a family ranch, as it is against his nature, but inexplicably desired for his survival. From here, he encounters Liam Williams, the 16-year-old son in a family of cattle farmers. With time, the Williams family decides to bring him in and nurture him for however long his life ends up being, and as Trotter and Liam share their ambitions, dreams, interests, and lives with each other, as if by destiny, they form an unbreakable bond.

As three years passed, and the media soon forgot about the poor girl who left the Opera, the two are living on the streets, selling Zydrate and grave robbing for a living. They thought they'd continue to outrun GeneCo. But they were wrong: they were chosen as the Tributes of Area 12. With Graverobber's help, and more along the way, Shilo Wallace will have to make it through the Games alive - “It's the 21st Century cure.” (Crossover with Repo! A young girl is brutally abducted by a bloodthirsty grizzly, forcing a group of scientists to mop up a genetic engineering operation that is out of control, threatening any and all who enter the woods. One question remains: are the animals really dangerous for no reason at all or does their enhanced intelligence simply make them recognize something damning about human nature that needs to be understood before it's too late? Two groups of scientific researchers are sent into the forests where animal attacks are frequent to study what is happening only to find themselves attacked and outsmarted (in part) by the animals themselves. Two environmental action groups find themselves at odds over the fate of the dangerous genetically-enhanced creatures. One group wishes to see the offensive beasts destroyed and the other wants to preserve them at all costs, even at the sacrifice of human life. The two sides find themselves at an impasse, unable to resolve their differences in an amiable way, leading to ever-increasing tension, animosity, kidnapping and murder. Entire forests are quarantined in an attempt to control and contain the beasts but soon holes are discovered in the operation as key players start disappearing in addition to animals eluding their hunters, fighting back and changing the field of battle to their own terms. As the "pro-beast" and "pro-human" sides pursue to their own interests with the unfortunate bears caught in the middle (struggling to establish themselves in a human dominated world), the animals learn more and more to rely on their expanding awareness to survive and thrive in their new world...to evolution-shattering effect.

Have you ever wondered if you were normal? If you ever fit in with the rest of the world? These questions run through our minds every day. And although we want to believe that we are, that we are normal, and that we aren't different, something happens, something changes. You see we are what you would think to be superheroes, but we aren't. We are genetically enhanced beings; we were born human, but only a few hours after our birth, we were taken and injected with a chemical that runs through our bloodstream. It begins to develop a mind of its own, and once inside our bloodstream, it begins to invade our blood cells. Once the cell dies off, it moves on to the next. Making it so it never leaves our bodies. Before they could finish the procedure, six children were taken and brought to an orphanage, their parents long forgotten. This was 15 years ago, and I was one of those children.

As the Avengers stormed through the Red Skull's base, their mission led them to a cavernous laboratory. The room was dimly lit, with the flicker of malfunctioning lights casting eerie shadows on the walls. Rows of towering, transparent tubes lined the space, most of them ominously empty. However, one tube stood out among the rest. Suspended in the green, viscous liquid inside the tube was a young boy, no older than fifteen. His fragile form was curled up tightly, as if seeking protection from an unseen threat. His body was a peculiar fusion of human and animal, with patches of fur covering his limbs, sharp claws instead of fingers, and a tail that floated languidly in the liquid. Delicate, feathery wings were folded against his back, and his ears, pointed and twitching even in his unconscious state, hinted at a keen sense of hearing. The boy's face was serene, almost peaceful, despite the dire circumstances. His breathing was slow and rhythmic, creating gentle bubbles that floated upwards. The green liquid glowed faintly, casting a soft, ethereal light on his features, highlighting the unnatural beauty and the tragic reality of his condition. The Avengers exchanged concerned glances, the weight of the discovery settling heavily upon them. This boy was not just a victim of the Red Skull's cruel experiments; he was a living testament to the horrors hidden within the base. Determined to rescue him, they began to devise a plan to break him free from his glass prison.
