"Shane?" "Yeah?" "I love you." Almost a year later Buzzfeed's cutest couple and expert ghost hunters, Ryan and Shane, are back in Pennsylvania, the same state where their relationship started. Only this time, they're in Gettysburg, where around 7,000 soldiers died during The American Civil War. They're also accompanied by Keith, Eugene, Ned, and Zach from The Try Guys. When half of their group goes missing, will the two lovers find their friends or be scared to their deaths by the spirits of The Civil War? The answer, for now, remains UNSOLVED. (If you read that in Ryan's theory voice, you get 100 bonus points) ( ! ) This is a sequel to Cellblock Four. If you haven't read that, then I guess you might possibly maybe be able to understand most of what's going on, but I highly recommend you go read it now. You'll regret not reading it sooner. Mild profanity - otherwise, no holy water needed. First published: June 5th, 2017 Originally completed: April 19th, 2018

A poem/song inspired by a visit to Gettysburg way back in 1976. The Bi-Centennial year for the USA. I visited at the insistence of my friend and fellow traveler, Michael. He was in the Army Reserve in our hometown Sydney, Australia. Michael planned our trip itinerary so many historical military sites were naturally included. Gettysburg, although I'd heard of it I doubt it would have been a must see for me save for Michael. It had a profound effect on me to this day. When my friend in Perth Stoney Martin was asked by a friend in Texas to write a song with Texas mentioned in the lyrics. Stoney and I thought that the USA may be headed for another civil war and we both thought we could come up with an anti-war protest song about the Civil War. I set down some words in 2020 In the middle of the Covid madness. Covid and Facebook restrictions took precedence over songwriting for us both. Stoney concentrated on his own music as a retired professional musician. Meanwhile, I got out my, now old, Casio Keyboard and finally resolved to learn to play the piano. I put writing and Wattpad aside for over two years to achieve my goal. No spare money for piano lessons meant replacing my time on Wattpad with time on Youtube until I could play at least one classical piece two-handed. Last birthday I decided to come back to Wattpad and renew my interest in my HereAfter Series of books. I have established many friends on this platform in a short time. A few are poets and song writers. I hadn't thought of putting song lyrics on Wattpad but I saw what they were doing and thought why not? Gettysburg Address is my first attempt at that. For the time being, it can be sung roughly to the tune of the American National Anthymn, The Star Spangled Banner, at least u inntil Stoney gets interested again to write an original score or I become so proficient on the piano that I can write the music myself. Neither of which I would hold my breath for. Haha.

Emeline "Emma" Adams is an eighteen year old girl living in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with her aunt Violet, having been sent there by her mother two years before from Marblehead, Ohio. Her friend and fiancé, Peter Shepard, left for the war in 1861, which will surely be over by Christmas. Life has flipped on it's head for Emma, but nothing prepared her for the first few days in July, 1863, when the war arrived on her door steps. Certainly not for battered and bleeding man strung along her cellar stairs. Keeping a Union soldier is dangerous, and Emma understands that it could be life or death. But as the Battle progresses, it becomes clear not only to Emma but to all citizens of the sleepy farm town that every step they take now decides their fate. Even so, an opportunity presents itself: as a handsome stranger takes refuge in her Aunt's home, Emma feels oddly drawn to the southern sympathizer. She has a choice to make: either stay in the sleepy farming town, or have a life of adventure with the visitor?

Set in the era of the Civil War, Ann has always struggled with her position in life. Seen as a useless girl to her family, Ann tries to see better of herself but feels herself falling to her family's views. She feels like she can't do anything, especially when her older brother, Martin, is conscripted to the war effort, where Ann is sure he will die. In a whirlwind decision, she decides to disguise herself as a male soldier, impersonating Martin and going off to war. Florence is an African-American girl with a fire in her heart. She's gutsy, with enough bravado to put the mightiest warriors to shame. A long-time friend of Ann's, Florence knows how it feels to be looked down on. But she can feel her warrior's heart inside her, urging her to fight in the Civil War, to fight for the freedom of her people. Unleashed anger and frustration burn in her bloodstream, begging to be set free. But how can she fight, when she's just a girl? Hugh is a seemingly selfish, self-conceded Southern boy who has been conscripted to fight the North. As the war rages on, he struggles to choose a side, indecision tearing at him. He knows that while one choice might be morally right, he knows that choosing that side could rip him from the beliefs his family has instilled in him since the day he was born. In a brutal twist of fate, all three of their lives collide, when Hugh, Florence, and Ann meet each other on the bloody battlefield of Gettysburg. But will they put aside their prejudices for survival? Or will they let themselves be torn apart by the worries and doubt that cloud all their minds?

This is the tale of two Irishmen: one is the youngest son of a dirt poor tenant farmer and the other is a young idealistic rebel. Both end up on American soil. One immigrates to the city of New York and the other to the city of New Orleans. As they start to settle into American society, the country is plunged into conflict. This war tests them in ways never imagined. In this story I hope to do justice to the "Immigrant's story" and accurately showcase the immense bravery of the Irish during the American Civil War.
