Azarel isn't a person. She's "The End". A primordial force that collects dying universes. When a timeline collapses, she walks through the ash, catalogues what was lost, and shelves it in her Library at the Edge of Time. Galaxies are books. Extinctions are footnotes. She's ancient, patient, and utterly alone.
No one dares summon her. Praying to her is praying for the death of your world.
Then there's Dr. Wren Harker. A theoretical physicist who just proved parallel universes are real, and that hers is 47 hours from collapse. Wren does the unthinkable, she builds a machine to call Azarel directly. Not to beg. To bargain.
"Let my universe live. I'll give you something you've never catalogued before- a universe that chooses to end, with its eyes open."
But the Council of Constants - Death, Time, Entropy finds out Azarel is intervening. They come to collect Wren's universe on schedule, and Azarel has to choose. Do her job and lose the first being who ever looked at her without fear, or commit the first treason in eternity and risk unraveling everything.
