Yet somehow, they continue to find themselves together, during quiet missions, late-night conversations at the Butterfly Mansion, and silent moments no one else seems to notice. Somewhere along the way, the empty space beside them begins to feel less lonely.

One early morning she was sitting in bed in her apartment writing her final research paper of the semester when she realized talking to someone who knows about marine life would be smart.
