So when one day, Tanjiro completes a mission with Zenitsu and Inosuke, there's no reason for them to not be suspicious when Giyuu is always waiting for Tanjiro to get back. They feel like their is something going on between them so Zenitsu decides that they should start following them. They then start to follow them around to figure out why Giyuu and Tanjiro are so close and why they are always together. But since Tomiko was a rank higher than Tanjiro they were forbidden to date from just the Demon Slayer rule book to not cause problems for missions.
