Akala niya tuloy-tuloy na. Pero isang araw, nagbago ang lahat. Bigla na lang siyang tinrato na parang wala. Parang isa siyang hangin lang. Walang paliwanag. Walang paalam. Isang malamig na distansya ang biglang namagitan sa kanila, at mas masakit iyon kaysa sa anumang salitang maririnig niya. Nadurog siya, hindi lang dahil iniwan siya sa ere kundi dahil sa mga tanong na hindi kailanman nasagot. Pinilit niyang ibaon ang lahat. Nagpanggap na ayos lang siya. Nagpanggap na hindi na masakit. Hanggang sa muling magtagpo ang landas nila. At sa isang simpleng sulyap, bumalik ang lahat. Ang tibok. Ang sakit. Ang mga alaala. Doon niya napagtanto na baka hindi pa talaga tapos ang kwento nila. Dahil sa likod ng mga matang minsan niyang tinawag na tahanan, may lihim pang naghihintay na mabunyag.
