"Hey Tanya, I'm taking a break." Maya called over her shoulder just as the front door swung open. She turned to look and was frozen in her tracks. Here, in downtown Knoxville, in an old dive bar, walked in the most polished and perfect woman she had ever seen. This poem is loosely inspired by a film that I've seen called "Gone Girl". I was sitting on my bed after watching it and just started writing this poem. What I love most about this character is that she has the ability to stay calm, cool and collected through any situation. She is manipulative and beautiful. No one knows what she is really capable of doing and no one will ever find out.
