Slate frantically ran up the stairs towards the observatory, looking around. "Mica?" Mica was also just as shaken. "Slate? What was that?" They asked. Their face was frightened as they stared at them. "I don't-" But they cut themselves off as they heard something... almost like whispering at first. But it was getting louder, and Slate realized it was the sound of whooshing air. But what was that bright, blue light in the sky? And why was it getting hotter all of a sudden? Slate suddenly gasped as a roar washed over them. They frantically looked up, seeing that the sky was too bright. Impossibly so. It lit up the entire night sky so much that they couldn't see the stars anymore. But then, it was gone. Slate stared in confusion and terror at the sky for a few seconds, as if they were waiting for the strange light to return, before they tilted their head back down and looked around frantically. A farewell is bittersweet. Though, perhaps, it could've been a tad more sweeter. All there's left now is a dull ache, regret, and some lost days which will never return. Pain.
