As a bicultural American citizen, I have the best of both worlds. I enjoy the freedoms and luxury of being born & raised in America and at the same time, I've inherited the customs and language of my parents. I was born to Haitian parents and grew up in Florida. I deeply love being an American but at the same time, I am so proud to be Haitian. I am deeply connected to both countries but as lucky as I feel to be a bicultural citizen, it is sometimes complicated.
