I wrote this a while ago, before the #Metoo movement or the second women's march. It was a writing exercise: describe something that could never happen to you. I just watched Halsey's speech at the women's march. It was beautifully written as most of her art is, but more importantly, it was her truth, and alas the truth of many others. I realized that because this could never happen to me, doesn't mean it couldn't happen to someone else; perhaps someone I love or will love. So I decided to share this story.
