Madeleine Winthrop was raised to be the perfect daughter. Born into a wealthy and deeply religious family, she spent her life following the rules, until one mistake changed everything. Pregnant out of wedlock and abandoned by those she loved most, Madeleine is forced to build a new life for herself and her young daughter. Between long workdays, whispered rumors, and the struggle of single motherhood, survival becomes her only goal. Then she meets Nathaniel Harrington. He is respected, influential and devoted. That man seems to offer everything she has lost. But as America begins to change and a new order rises from the ashes of the old world, Madeleine finds herself standing closer and closer to the people shaping that future. A future called Gilead. As a Wife, she is given everything she once dreamed of : security, status, a family, and a place in society. Yet beneath the blue dresses and polite smiles lies a terrifying truth. And one day, that truth comes for her children too. A psychological story about faith, motherhood, privilege, guilt, and the price of looking away. Because sometimes the most dangerous people are not the ones who created the system... but the ones who believed in it. NOTE : - This is a fiction set in the universe of The Handmaid's Tale. - The cover was created by a graphic designer. I do not claim ownership of the artwork. - All writing, characters, plot developments, and original additions featured in this story were written by me. - English is not my native language, so you may encounter occasional mistakes. 🥇 1st on #hulu 🥇1st in #TheHandmaidsTale stories ! Amazing !! 🫶🏻🤍 Thank you for your patience and support, and I hope you enjoy Madeleine's story. :) UPDATE : The main story is now complete, I will go on with her story a bit later when all is prepared and done :) @GhoulNumberSix

"I never thought I would be here right now. The room is empty; devoid of any personality. The sheets are clean, but also plain... I guess I don't need any showing of a personality, not when I am a commodity. You don't need a personality to breed." The story of Serenity Lyons; a once vibrant college student pushing toward a brighter future that gets stuck in the new world that is Gilead. This is her story of survival and finding light in the darkest corners. Disclaimer: I do not own Handmaid's Tale; I only own the created characters set in the world.

A young Muslim woman must fight for her family, future, and right to exist when a hateful, fascist regime is elected to govern America. Author's Note: "A Light On the Sea" is a short 500 word story inspired by Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale," for the #MyHandmaidsTale contest. The main character is named Noor, which means "light" in Arabic. This story is a work of fiction, but the hateful statements within the story are inspired by actual comments made by sitting politicians and pundits, which makes the story all the more chilling. I wanted to use fiction to show how harmful and dangerous this kind of rhetoric is -- and how quickly it can escalate. Genocide is a slow process. No holocaust begins with physical violence. It begins with the normalization of hate speech.
