This is a Handmaid's Tale fanfiction. Mary is the daughter of Commander Charles and his wife Juliette. In Gilead the daughters are only given schooling that primarily focuses on domestic arts such as crochet, gardening and music. However, when the daughters turn 16 they must attend a school to learn the duties of a Wife so that when they turn the marriageable age of 17 they will be prepared to lead the life of a Wife to a Commander. These simple duties, however, do not interest Mary as she secretly dreams about science and literature.

This is my submission for #MyHandmaidsTale contest. I decided to take on the perspective of one of the daughters who were taken away from their mothers. 497 words.

Hesychia, a child of the Greek god Hypnos, who escaped the Republic of Gilead and ran away to the mountains is visited one day by the daughter she bore to a wife in her dreams. She went on a mission to go get her daughter and bring her to the only other safe place she knew: Camp Half-Blood. Alice, daughter of a respected general in the Republic of Gilead, had always felt off. Like she didn't belong in this world. She had always been able to control her dreams, but she didn't know what to think when she had a dream of a woman who looked exactly like her. Pretend the events of PJO happened in this reality.
