Hayffie Stories

Haymitch has been informed that he has to accompany Effie on this trip and reacts as if he's just been sentenced to death. Meanwhile Effie is already planning outfits and schedules and train activities while Haymitch contemplates throwing himself off the platform before departure. Neither of them realizes they're about to spend several days trapped together in a snowstorm. How will their feelings change when they start to learn everything about eachother?

This is a story about some of the characters from the hunger games. It's is mainly Hayffie and Everlark with a few twists. Hope everyone enjoys it. All right belong to Suzanne Collins. I do not own any of these characters.

For years, Haymitch believed there wasn't much about him worth remembering. Effie disagreed. When an accidental discovery uncovers a collection of forgotten notes, faded keepsakes, and memories tucked away with care, Haymitch is forced to see himself through the eyes of the woman who's been quietly loving him all along.

It's been a year since Katniss went home from the Capitol after the rebellion. She barely sees Haymitch and Peeta, not because she doesn't want to but because she refuses to leave the comfort and safety of her couch. --------- "I'm not letting you push me away anymore." He says, his calmness finally dissipating. "And why not?" I ask frustrated. "Because I can't just sit here and watch you fold into yourself anymore! It's not healthy." "Why do you care? I've been shutting you out for over a year! Why won't you just give up on me already?" "Because you don't give up on the people you love. You didn't give up on me, I'm not giving up on you. You can try and push me away all you want but I'm not going anywhere." That's when the dam finally breaks.

Every Thursday, Haymitch comes to the library for the same reason: peace and quiet. Then Effie Trinket starts showing up. Between books, tea, rainy afternoons, and walks through the Capitol, two people who never expected to understand each other begin discovering something neither of them can quite put into words. Maybe some stories are meant to be found between the shelves.

How long will Effie Trinket wait for Haymitch Abernathy to realize that she doesn't want anyone else but him?

I loved her. But her death seemed not real. My daughter is finally old enough to understand what Effie and I were. I choose not to cry, knowing that it will upset my daughter. I have to stay strong. I have to stay strong for her. So I saw this video on YouTube and I was inspired. So I wrote this story. This is a solo story, and it doesn't belong to a series. Enjoy!
