Effie Trinket was the one person Haymitch Abernathy felt the need to cry over. She didn't feel like the strength was in her to survive, but when she awoke to his crying to find herself swaddled in blankets, hooked to IV's and deep in the hospital to District Thirteen, with Haymitch by her side she made a vow then. No matter what. Whatever it was, she had to live. ((The song for this is What About Angels by Birdy. Will contain before epilogue as well, but that'll be a separate book. Mainly focusing on Hayffie. Also, a few of the titles I might be referencing songs. I'll mention you in the next chapter if you can guess the song I referenced.)

Takes place during the events of the books. Will be including each book a chapter is referring to. This is a bunch of things, and will probably take a long time to write. I do have another Hayffie story, if you're interested. It's just not finished yet because I want to write this first. A little everlark included. It's kinda slow burn, I guess. Also, I'm definitely going to include non-canon Hayffie things. Please remember that this is a fanfiction. Hayffie, her perspective. Through the years. Haymitch, the first tribute she somehow ended up being the escort for, won the games, and nothing could be better for clearing the Trinkets' name than that. Effie's life could be perfect- if she didn't, and she feels guilty for even thinking about that, somehow feel bad for him. For no reason, of course, the Games are an honour, he should be grateful, the opportunities that he got!, but something in the back of her mind feels bad for him. A Thing she would NEVER admit, considering he's district, how could she! But despite the way she was raised, Effie is a good person, she feels empathy, and it seems like Haymitch changed something in her, something that will change the history of Panem.

I was born in the woods outside 12. The capital had just bombed 13 (where my mother and father came from) and my mother was on the run. My father had been killed in the explosions so it was just her, my older brother, and me. We managed to escape unharmedand the next day I was born, and during the birth my mother died, leaving my brother, Plutarch, who was 11,to raise me. For 11 years we survived in the woods: hunting, making fires, washing ourselves and our cloths in a lake. We even found shelter in a small cabin. One day we saw a little girl and her father in the woods, both with bows and arrows, the little girl was being taught how to hunt. I later found out that little girl was Katniss Everdeen. I made friends with the girl, taught her how to light a fire, helped her with her archery, but the next day, we were captured, I guess a hovercraft saw us. All I know, is that we were taken to Snow and our identities were changed. We became Effie Trinket and Plutarch Hevensbee.

Nova, a girl on 12 and Raze, a boy on 18, is the unlucky ones being reaped, and they get Haymitch, Katniss and Peeta as their mentors. Can these three mentors safe one of the kids? Raze is a quick, strong boy from the mines. He quickly shows himself just as skilled in combat as the Careers. Nova is completely different. She is little and weak, and used most of her time at home dancing, studying or reading. She is a smart girl, who knows how to survive, as long as no one will try to kill her. While the kids are in the Quell fighting for their lives, Katniss and Peeta is spending a lot of time together. Not only do they have the kids in the Quell to look after, but also the wedding. And throughout all this, all the nights of holding each other, will actual love blossom?

After the revolution, Effie Trinket realizes that now she is homeless. Desperate, she asks for Haymitch's help, but what she doesn't know is that Haymitch had a secret love for her. Happy with the cry for help, he invites her to live with him. Only God knows what is going to happen between these two.

This year is different due to 50 years after the rebellion 4 tributes will enter and fight to the death.
