Hello everyone! This is my Johnny Cade x y/n fanfiction. Just a little heads up, this story doesn't take place during the time that The Outsiders does. It's kind of like an AU where Johnny and Dally didn't die, but all the other events happened. We'll say this is like, 6 months after. Also, I know that S. E. Hinton wrote a few books that take place after and have Outsiders characters in them, but I haven't read those in a hot minute so this won't be consistent with those books. Sorry! I hope you enjoy!

I snuck in the house with guilt weighing on my heart. I knew I had done wrong; my conscious told me so. Adultery is a crime, and now I had to face the charges of said crime. Light danced across the floor as a person was pacing back and forth in front of it. The light at the end of the hallway. I'd snicker at the irony if it weren't under such circumstances. I moved in calculated movements toward the door. My breath rattled out of my mouth as I finally met my destination. "You'll be fine, what's the worst that could happen?" I told myself. Which was an honest question. What really was the worst that could happen? My wife could divorce me, but that'd be doing us both a favor. I could lose my job, but it's not like I actually enjoyed it anyways. I could go to jail... Before I could prepare myself further, light smacked my sensitive eyes, and I winced. "Someone's been a naughty boy, I'll be taking you downtown.." My wife sneered as she smacked a plastic baton against her other hand. There she stood with a wild smirk on her face in her "bad cop" uniform. I sighed. _____________ I hope you all enjoy the book!
