He fears the Ministry will take her away for being raised by such a dark wizard. He is paranoid because being a Death Eater, he only got out of going to Azkaban by claiming he was under the Imperius curse, which, of course, was a lie. So, like any Dad would do, he protected her. He protected her until the day came when the Ministry came knocking about a murder in a small town nearby. It was caused by the Killing Curse and the Selwyns were the only wizards within a twenty mile radius. What will happen when Rae is sent to live with the Malfoys? What about when she goes to Hogwarts? And most importantly, what will happen to her father? Disclaimer: Everything in this book other than my original plot ideas, and Sofia and Rae Selwyn was created by J.K. Rowling. Silas Selwyn's character was of my own creation but it is hinted in her books that there may have been a Death Eater called Selwyn. Ever since I was young, I believed in mermaids. In fact, I have seen one before. Not any of that fake stuff you see on the internet, I saw her swimming in the ocean. No one believed me though. But I knew they were real. As I grew older, my family and I went on a trip across the ocean for a year. When we got back, I got my own place on the beach in the Caribbean.
