Naaz was different from the very beginning. When I asked to visit her house as part of my student home visits, she refused immediately and warned me that nobody ever visits her home. At first, I thought she was joking. But a few days later, a new student joined the class and said something impossible... He claimed that Naaz never came alone. According to him, there was another presence around her - something dark, silent, and watching. The strange part? I had never told anyone about Naaz or our conversation. So how did he know? Some secrets are better left untouched. And some people... never truly come alone.

I already have a long list of revisions, expansions, and corrections I plan to make in future drafts, but I wanted to release it before the Backrooms movie as a small tribute to liminal horror and the stories that inspired me. Excerpt: Caterpillar is a scary short story by EF Benson about a man who has dreadful visions of ghostly mutant caterpillars crawling over the bed of his friend. Only much later, does he learn the terrible fate of the man who'd previously stayed in his friend's room.
