After the fall of the Imperial fortress world, a young Cadian and his comrades have fought in the never-ending, brutal war that consumes the galaxy. Battle after battle, he fought to destroy the enemies of the Emperor and humanity. A mission against the forces of Chaos goes wrong, and he finds himself engulfed in a Warp portal, transporting him to a frozen, dead world where he is unable to contact the Imperium of Man. However, he is not alone, for men of iron walk the planet, and as he comes to learn more about the robotic population, his faith will be tested and he'll be forced to make heretical choices to survive. The war between humanity and the Covenant has entered its highest point. Desperate for help to ensure humanity's survival, a group of expedition vessels make a course into the most bizzare place in the galaxy-a place where time and space seemingly all but destroyed. In search of salvation, they find their answer, but that answer was beyond any of their mortal minds to comprehend. It opened their eyes that they are not alone in the vastness of the space and time.

Rozhovory s ním nejsou jen únikem před povinnostmi, ale nebezpečným objevováním historie, která byla záměrně přepsána krví. Když se hranice mezi tím, co je správné, a tím, co je pravdivé, začne stírat, Catalina zjišťuje, že její největší nepřítel není mimo hranice říše, ale v samotném jejím srdci. Cesta, kterou si zvolila, ji nenávratně mění. A v závěru, když utichne ozvěna posledního boje, na ni čeká zjištění, které může navždy spojit dva znepřátelené světy - nebo je oba společně pohltit. Pravda má svou cenu. A Catalina ji právě začala splácet.

Doch nach den ersten hinweisen die ins nichts verlaufen, schwindet die Hoffnung darauf ihre Schwester jemals Lebens zu finden. Wie weit gehts du für die eine Dame? Und hält diese Bindung zwischen Kai und Mary seiner dunklen Seite stand oder wird sie sie mit in den Abgrund reißen.
