With the progression of human society and the emergence of an ever-growing number of metahumans, there is unrest building in the vampire world; the struggle to remain hidden and striking from the shadows when they need to feed is becoming an increasing hassle, which they do not fancy. The two factions of the vampire society see different prospects as solutions. The Drucules, who already loathe the human race, wish to launch a preemptive strike on the human race in an effort to reduce its population. The Alucadians, more tolerant of humans, wish to emerge from the shadows with knowledge that could steer humanity into a lulling peace that would allow vampires alternatives to violence to obtain sustenance. Despite this, there is infighting within the vampire society that would see a civil war come about, infighting that seems to be fueled by a saboteur if anyone would care to observe events for more than two seconds. At the same time, in another Galaxy, Rexzord, the strongest Azec Guardian, was battling Darkwrath, Galactic Demon. Darkwrath won and the Omnitron stone was transferred to him, but Rexzord had wounded him severely that even Mannox was unable to heal him. Hurt and dying, Darkwrath zapped into earth, crashed onto a field where Jarred and his colleagues were hiding from the bandits. Jarred accidentally fell on Darkwrath's lifeless body and the Omnitron got transferred to him, turning him into The Red Titan.

After partially foiling Hemic's plans, Plasmasonic turns her attention to Stefania 'Spade' Simonetti, who was reluctantly involved in Hemic's schemes for her own gains. With Hemic gone, Spade seeks to go legit in Fayetteville to insulate her family's operations back in Cincinnati. However, Plasmasonic's sense of justice won't let her ignore Spade's involvement in what has happened. Velas, a friend of To̅mi's, has been ordered by the Echo Haven chief to retrieve Elowen but keeps her in the dark about why. Velas, realizing she may need a companion, asks To̅mi to tag along and is slightly apprehensive when To̅mi brings Gabriella along because she's a normal human. Determined to prove herself to not only Velas but also To̅mi, Gabriella resolves to be resourceful during the adventure.
