Zavier and Daniel were inseparable as children. But after their parents' divorce, the brothers were forced to live separate lives, each with a different parent. Phone calls became occasional, texts became silence, and before long, they were little more than memories in each other's lives. Then Daniel dies. Standing at his younger brother's funeral, Zavier is consumed by guilt, convinced that if he had stayed in touch, things might have been different. But grief quickly turns into fear when strange noises begin echoing through his house every night. At first he dismisses them as the sounds of an old home-until he realizes they're repeating in a pattern. Someone is trying to send him a message. As Zavier deciphers the code, he makes a horrifying discovery: Daniel's death wasn't an accident. Even worse, the police seem unwilling to pursue the truth, leaving the case buried beneath indifference and racial injustice.
