Kiryu Shiba is an inventor. In fact, the Kiryus have been inventors for generations. However, Shiba's father was working on one invention in particular, one that got him killed. The invention of time travel. It's strictly prohibited to even work on time travel, let alone jump through time. But Shiba vowed to finish his father's work in secret.
