For Dean had to allow his brother Sam to say yes to the devil himself to end the apocalypse and in return death would give him the key to Lucifer's cage. But that was not all that Death wanted. Lucifer had taken something from the horseman. Something very precious and very valuable to him. And Death wanted it back.
