Suhu ledakan nuklir dengan kekuatan ratusan hingga ribuan mega ton yang super panas telah merubah sifat dan struktur tanah menjadi sangat keras dan getas. Tanah yang sangat keras dan getas menyebabkan tumbuhan mikroskofis yang menjadi tumbuhan pioner dalam ekosistem tidak pernah dapat hidup.
