Another whimper and Tyler had to admit that he was half hard. He needed more. He pushed the handle and nudged the door open a tiny bit. Tyler knew Josh's room had the same layout as his own, so the bed was to the left of the door, in the far corner. The perfect view.

After all, his only goal in life was to become President of the United States and the first step to getting there was being elected student body president of his puny public high school that he didn't even want to be at. Everything after that would be a breeze. His next five years were planned out and everything would go according to those plans as long as nobody fucked it up for him. Josh Dun was only in high school to graduate, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try and have fun while he was there. From skateboarding in the halls to vandalizing teacher bathrooms to receiving (and giving) head in the various janitor's closets. And the one thing he thought was the most fun? A little ways through the first semester, Tyler notices something peculiar about his best friend. As best friends, Tyler just wants to talk about it. That's when something happened that made him discover something about himself. Tyler is confused about nearly everything. He spends endless hours pondering the meaning of his existence and struggles to see past the pain in the world. Music seems to distract him and give him some kind of focus and refines his outlook on life. Tyler's senior year approaches and due to endless pressure from his parents to go to college he become reclusive and questions the whole idea. He begins to fall into habits were he spends time alone thinking about almost everything and avoids human contact. Looking for someone, searching for some kind of purpose, Tyler befriends a new student named Josh and his life begins to become somewhat clear.
