In this modern reimagining of "Pride and Prejudice", Elizabeth Bennet - a sharp‑witted data analyst and blogger - crosses paths with Fitzwilliam Darcy, the reserved CEO of Pemberley Tech. At first, they judge each other: she sees him as an aloof tycoon, he views the local community with detached skepticism. As a data leak crisis hits the company, Lizzy's thoughtful, compassionate writing helps calm the storm - and makes Darcy see her integrity and empathy. He begins to confront his own arrogance, rethink the company's ethics, and prioritize community over profit. They face pressure from Darcy's powerful aunt, Lady Catherine, who wants him to uphold family expectations and reject Lizzy. But Darcy chooses his own path: he reforms the business, stands up to his aunt, and admits his mistakes publicly. Eventually, Darcy and Lizzy acknowledge their feelings and build a relationship based on mutual respect and shared values. Jane and Bingley also grow closer, united by their desire to support education. A year later, Pemberley Tech launches its Community First Initiative, and Darcy and Lizzy stand together, realizing that real pride means standing for what matters, and real love grows from seeing and honoring each other's humanity.

The only daughter (and youngest child) of Lord and Lady Whittaker, twenty year old Gloriana reveled in her third season amongst high society London. With a marriage proposal all but verbally uttered, and very much anticipated by the ton, she had never been happier. But, sometimes, things are just too good to be true, and a vicious kick back to reality was in the cards for Miss Gloriana. Heart broken and bitter, she returns to her mother's side at their country estate, where her life takes a few rather unexpected turns. ~A regency era romance~ •Jane Austen/Charlotte Bronte inspired story• Edge= to excite, stimulate, or provoke If you're like me, you loved 'Pride and Prejudice', 'Sense and Sensibility', and 'Jane Eyre'. It's so easy to get lost in time while reading about life in the age where men were (mostly) gentleman, where lavish balls were frequent, and when there was a season in London where the gentry and well mannered people got together to gossip and form relationships. Also, if you're like me, all of those super inaccurate, pseudo regency period romance stories probably make you want to weep all over your Mr.Darcy body pillow. And that's not to say I don't read them, I still do, cause I'll take what I can get. I'm also not insinuating there aren't great, truly well written regency period stories on here either. I feel grateful to have found a few so far, and I really appreciate the authors who wrote them. But I couldn't help but try my hand at writing something I'd really enjoy reading. Something a bit more accurate than most. Still a little overdone, still has everything you want in a good regency era love story, but it shouldn't turn you into a Bertha Mason out of frustration. Any comments are appreciated! ♡JordynBH

Historical context: By the time the Powers had caged Napoleon Bonaparte (Boney) his armies had ravaged all Europe. Only little England remains unscathed but for her soldiers. Her citizens were only touched emotionally. Soldiers return to crowds of hero-worshipers. The younger brother of the guillotined Louis 16th is propped up on the throne of France vacated by the Emperor Napoleon. But the ogre's old Grande Armee chafes on the bit of idleness and King Louis's aristocrats pant for revenge. Story: Peacetime is no more tranquil than wartime for some families. The Darnleys are in debt. What is the solution? Their children must marry money. But while showing obedience, the siblings form their own ideas. Could the perfect partners fall for them? Could they fall for the perfect partners? Do perfect partners even exist? Politics refuses to bury the past. Covered intrigues and grudges must surface. Secrets decades old collide and rock foundations. Reputation and wealth is everything. War might return. Extract: "You are three-and-twenty and have been nine months in the army. You are inclined to kick up larks, gamble, game, bet, and flirt with actresses. You want taming. In a few words, you want a wife. Our house is on a financial precipice. Any gust of wind could push us onto the rocks below. We want wealth. Look about you at this season's debutants. Neglect the belles backstage. Look around you with a keen and serious eye. Before you have only inspected society beauties with a mind for dalliance. Now inspect them for the qualities that might suit you in a wife. I cannot dictate them. You are familiar with your own tastes. Let her be decent. Let her be comely and, above all, let her be wealthy." Completing this speech, Lord Darnley placed his fingertips together and awaited his son's response with a touch of his former anxiety.

Hopeless romantic and self-certified Jane Austen fanatic, Rosalie Knight is a bookworm not afraid to speak her mind. Waiting for her Mr. Darcy, Mr. Knightley, or Captain Wentworth, she's stuck in a daydream with no way out for now. Covered in tattoos, Declan Steele definitely DID NOT pop out of an Austen novel and has no intention of ever being a hero. His guarded nature leaves him with few friends and rough exterior turns people away. First impressions...did not go well. Too bad for them because a partner project is forcing them together for the whole semester. However, the odd relationship goes deeper than that throughout their senior year of college. Between family and friends, graduating on time, and much needed reality checks, Declan and Rosalie are forced to see if they end up "fools in love" or just another unhappily ever after. #212 in ChickLit 06/15/17 #410 in ChickLit 06/13/17 Thank you to _trapt for the new cover!

There's this moment in the 2005 movie adaptation which makes me laugh because Mr. Darcy is so cold and aloof... and that's the moment where Elizabeth asks, "Do you dance, Mr. Darcy?" Presumably just making an effort to be friendly. And he says, "Not if I can help it." in a very matter-of-fact way. What makes it even funnier is that later, at the Netherfield Ball, he asks her to dance, and she is surprised and agrees despite the fact that she doesn't like him. The "Do you dance" scene directly precedes (in the movie) the scene where Darcy tells Bingley that Elizabeth is tolerable but not handsome enough to tempt him... so that is the moment which ingrains in the mind of the town that Mr. Darcy is a proud, disagreeable man. But, I wonder how it would have gone if he answered differently to her question...
