The time is 2043. World War Three broke out two months ago, on May 1st, and along with the War came bombings and then disease. One particular disease, however, can do more than the others... an airborn virus called "Rosebud" was spawned in this chaos, a pestilence that spreads like wild fire, attacking and disintegrating the nervous system until any and all functions are rendered impossible as the virus makes its way up the spinal column, eating away. Almost everyone who contracts the disease dies in a five-day period. "Almost" is the key word. Because .4% of the population is about to experience some very adverse effects.

Every October begins the two months spent finding the most musically talented young men of the kingdom, in hopes there is one to please the princess and save the kingdom. But what happens when she doesn’t like any of the music or the men, besides a mysterious and dark man who roams the grounds? Winter is coming, and without a future king to fend off the Winter Guardians, the kingdom is doomed to a storm that’s been waiting to kill for centuries.
