Humans had soulmates. Once they turned 15, their first tattoo would show up on their body, showing something of importance to their partner. The closer the tattoo was to the heart, the more valuable it was to the soulmate. Through these tattoos, people were given clues to who their partner was so they could find each other. James was excited for his 15th birthday, thinking that he knew exactly who his soulmate was. Severus was dreading his 15th birthday, thinking that no one would want to be stuck with him. But as the two explored, they learned more. And in time, they found themselves understanding better what type of person their soulmate was.

At the age of 16, the given witch or wizard will go through a creature inheritance (if that person has creature blood in their family line). Severus Snape goes through an early (and very painful) creature inheritance, and has trouble finding his mate, or rather, coming to terms with who his mate is. James Potter is having the same trouble with his inheritance.

So Harry is forced to marry Draco Harry only ever saw Draco as a friend (Btw Snape is is Harry's mother Eric is Draco's step dad (luscious boyfriend)) they were being forced together because Ginny weasley wanted him as husband So the weasley potters and malfoys decided before that Harry will marry malfoy as Ginny would use him for money (I am not in this but my ocs will be)
