Prologue Date-stamped It begins the same way it always does. Not with facts, but with recognition. The country is different this time. The beach is new. The accent on the newsreader has changed. But the sound hasn't. Because this time, the names are already there. Pronounced cleanly. Repeated confidently. Familiar enough to arrive with baggage. Before the sequence of events is clear. Before motive is established. Before the dead are even counted properly. A beach - a place engineered to mean safety - now carrying the same old syllables we've heard before, in other cities, other countries, other years. And that's where the déjà vu lives. Not in what has happened - but in how quickly the story settles into a shape we recognise. The questions feel pre-filled. The arguments arrive early. The conclusions don't wait for their turn. This is a different country. But the narrative sounds the same. So this is where I begin. Not to rush toward explanation. Not to add to the noise that forms before understanding. But to stay with the story as it resists simplification. To watch what changes - and what doesn't - as facts catch up with fear. This is a developing story. I will stay with it.

I've never really been into horror / thriller literature, but this book single-handedly made me a fan! The writing style, the level of detail, the suspense, the amount of research that went into crafting the plot and stage for this dynamic masterpiece of a book is STUNNING. And Sean Fisher composed MUSIC for the book. MUSIC! I highly recommend this story to inquisitive readers who want to be simultaneously impressed and disquieted--especially those that crave a great plot twist (because wow).
