Its lords trace their blood through Eddard Stark of Winterfell, but its origins lie in scandal, sacrifice, and exile. The house was established when Jon Snow - revealed to be the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen - was spared execution by King Robert, on the condition that he be forever removed from southern politics and pose no threat to the Iron Throne. To ensure Jon's loyalty and bury his lineage, Eddard Stark granted him land in the harsh northern Gift and wed him to his daughter Sansa Stark in a politically fraught, sorrow-burdened match. Though the arrangement was dressed in honor, all in the North understood it for what it was: a burial disguised as a gift. Thus arose House Grey, named for the bleak landscape of their new domain, the direwolf of their sigil, and the color of the life they were condemned to live - neither black with dishonor nor white with safety, but caught forever in the cold middle ground. The Grey sigil - a white direwolf on a grey field - is a somber echo of the Stark banner, a quiet declaration that even cast out, the founders carried Winterfell's blood and values into exile. Their house words, "Stark, Still," serve both as defiance and confession: they remain Starks at heart, unbroken by distance, disgrace, or snowbound isolation. Their seat, Ned's Gift, is a once-ruined holdfast carved into livable form through labor, stubbornness, and necessity. It stands on the edge of the world, where men look toward the Wall and remember how thin the line is between survival and loss. In time, House Grey becomes known in the North as: "The Quiet Wolves." "The Still Wolves of the Gift." "The Exiled Starks." Yet their loyalty to the North proves unwavering, their endurance remarkable. She already resigned to the fate of having another loveless political union with one of Robb's governors or advisors. Then came Jon. Кошмарные сны, отдых на террасе, мелодия, льющаяся из граммофона, озеро с холодной водой, от которой кожа покрывается мурашками - всё смешалось воедино. Остаётся только 5 стадий принятия неизбежного. Посмотрев прекрасный фильм "Воспоминания о будущем", у меня появилось желание написать что-то о послевоенных временах, а образ Кита Харингтона в военной форме не выходил из головы. Есть еще маленькие пометки: - в фильме действия происходили по хронологии Первой мировой войны, а в фанфике описываются события после 1945 года; - ничего общего с героями данной картины моё творение не имеет. За основу взята лишь атмосфера и щепотка характера главного героя; - Джон знает, что Эддард Старк является его дядей. - Пара Арья/Джендри мелькает только на втором плане. (Но при написании некоторых сцен, у меня возникало желание уделить им намного больше внимания. Возможно, какой-нибудь драббл вскоре все-таки появится). В этой работе упор делается именно на проблему инцест
