She leaves her small hometown of Warner Robins to California where she runs into obstacles that turn her life upside down. But she meets local surfer Kai and everything changes.

Will Cynthia find the man known as Mister who wronged her as a child? The one who took her right to ever have a chance at a childhood? Or will she stay in hiding, struggling to provide for her sister... and maybe stowaway blanker? Will their small family grow? Josephine has always written letters to her pen pal, Jordyn. He lives in France and Josephine has never met him. Finally, when her parents approve, Jordyn comes visit for the first time. He runs into Josephine's boyfriend, Shane, and realized how much of a jerk he is, so the big, brown-eyed French pen pal comes up with a plan to get Shane out of Josephine's life. But as Shane is pushed out, jordyn accidentally steps in, and in a couple weeks, he's going back home to France.
