Hinata Shōyō believes love is about trust, loyalty, and staying no matter what. When his relationship with his stubborn setter, Kageyama Tobio, begins to twist into something darker, Hinata convinces himself that fear, control, and jealousy are normal-that this is simply what love looks like. Even as Kageyama's behavior grows worse by the week, Hinata stays because he believes this is what love is supposed to be. He doesn't want to leave and hurt Kageyama, convincing himself that everyone gets angry and that this is normal. More than that, Hinata loves volleyball and his team too much to risk making things awkward between all of them. So he endures it. He stays loyal. He keeps quiet., his spark slowly fading as he focuses on keeping Kageyama calm, careful not to do anything that might make him angrier or more violent.
A long training camp brings familiar faces from Hinata's past and an unexpected reunion with Miya Atsumu. Their meeting is awkward at first, filled with half-formed memories and unfinished feelings, but the distance between them slowly closes. Atsumu notices things he shouldn't-things that leave him shaken and furious at what Kageyama has taught Hinata love is supposed to be. Still, he tells no one, afraid speaking up would only hurt Hinata more, and convinced no one would believe him anyway.
As Atsumu grows closer, he recognizes his feelings for Hinata and keeps them carefully hidden. His frustration builds as he watches Hinata doubt his own worth-especially after a coach dismisses him as a player only useful when Kageyama is around. Atsumu wants to reassure Hinata, to protect him, to bring back the spark Kageyama has slowly taken from him.
More than anything, Atsumu wants to show Hinata what real love actually is-safe, patient, and genuine-and hopes Hinata will one day open his eyes, see the truth, and finally understand how Atsumu truly feels.
