Hello! This is just two of my little fanfic scenes for Kanej (SOC). This is my first fanfic, so please be kind if you're reading this now.

The last thing Kaz saw before he blacked out was a large burly man standing over him. ~ That was how she knew he was the only one that she would ever have a place for in her heart. To put it into other words, he was the only one she would ever love. His flaws made him perfect. From his cold-hearted, ruthless nature to his introverted self. From his haphephobia to his limp in his right leg. She loved every part of him. And these so-called imperfections in the eyes of others made him Kaz, the Bastard of the Barrel, Dirtyhands, the man she had given her heart to. ~ It's been a week since Kuwei's auction, since Matthias died, since Kaz brought Inej's parents to Ketterdam. To no one's surprise, her parents have stayed and Inej has been spending as much time as possible with them. However there's one small problem for Kaz : Inej has asked him to come to the hotel to meet her parents. Pekka Rollins has been dethroned, and Kaz must do his best to claim the title of King of The Barrel, but the competition is nearly as cunning as he is, and the ever-changing web of alliances in Ketterdam is already shifting, learning to operate without its late ruler. The monster of a city has a way of keeping one disoriented, new foes crop up and businesses collapse in the blink of an eye. Timing is key, but Kaz has underestimated just how crucial it is, and how hard it will be to gather information with his ex-Wraith flitting in and out of the city. Inej has her ship, and has reunited with her parents but everything is not quite so perfect as it seems. She didn't realize how hard it would be to see her parents again after everything she's been through. No longer an innocent child, she struggles to explain everything she's done. They understand what was survival, and there is no blame for her actions, but her parents recoil at her ideas of hunting down slavers, labeling it brash and foolish. Which it just may be, lacking a true foundation and plan. She can't simply go cavorting about the open sea and hope to find slavers. So she turns to Kaz, in the hopes of starting something new, to root out the worst of the worst, on the seas and in the city.

The fear that Kaz struck in people often made them overlook Kaz's, right-hand man. Jesper Fahey, Kaz's very own sharpshooter never missed, even when the shot seemed impossible. There was a reason Kaz kept him as close as he did. While it was easy to play off as it was Jesper's endless skills with a gun and the uncanny ability to talk himself out of almost every situation he found himself in. It would take one particular job Kaz takes on for the crows to start to see the deeper reason Kaz kept Jesper around.

In an alternate version of what happens after Crooked Kingdom (second book of the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo) Kaz Brekker and Inej Gafha find themselves trapped on yet another mission when Inej's parents are kidnapped right under their noses- and by a former member of the Dregs, too! After being humiliated by Kaz and released from service to the Crows the former dregs member decides to get his revenge. What better way to get revenge on Kaz than to break his Wraith? In this story (which will be told in saints-know how many parts) Kanej must do what they can to save the Gafhas from a miserable fate and get rid of the crime lord for good. Started July 30th, 2021
