The story tells the tale of a high school student that was and orphan and ends up in a nice home but things get bad when her adoptive mother pases away and now she will have to fulfill her destiny as a goddess with the help of a few

I cowered in fear as he stepped closer to me and in that instant I bolted past him to the safety of the night. --- Hotaru, a demigod, is on the run for her life. While being chased by her pursuer, she ends up getting handed off to a demon which insures her death, but instead he saves her and himself. We pick up in present day where she has to struggle to try and live but she ends up meeting a friendly young woman who helps her, but the danger isn't completely gone. Hotaru still has to worry about losing her life.
