This story is about how Kali's and Alma's parents came to be their parents it's set several years before the war the main plot is about two teenagers ( Tasir and Miriam ) that both live in different towns who find love through equal rights and writing.Tasir is a traditional Palestinian 16 year old but believes deeply that his wife should be just as educated as he is he also holds peaceful protests for equal rights for women. Miriam is your typical Palestinian 15 year old she cooks cleans and looks after her four younger siblings but her dream is to be the first female doctor in her town now her mother Marwa believe she can do it and encourages her to do so but her father Nasir wants her to get married by the time she's 17 and have children by the age of 18 but things start to change when her English teacher gives her a pen pal the handsome activist traditional man Tasir.
