Pada usia dua belas tahun, aku belajar bahawa tuduhan yang tidak benar boleh meninggalkan luka yang jauh lebih dalam daripada hukuman. Aku dilantik menjadi pengawas koperasi dan berasa bangga apabila diberi kepercayaan oleh guru. Namun semuanya berubah apabila wang koperasi mula hilang dan sejumlah wang syiling ditemui di dalam begku. Aku tidak mencuri. Wang itu sebenarnya wang yang telah lama aku simpan sejak Darjah 5 untuk membayar kertas lukisan Sains yang belum cukup kutipannya.
