Six hundred years before Christ, Jerusalem is a city that doesn't know it's dying. Lehi knows. He's known for months - felt it the way you feel weather, in the body, before the sky shows it. When the Lord finally confirms what he's feared, the message is simple and impossible: take your family and go. Tonight. Leave everything. What follows is one family's journey across eight years of wilderness, open ocean, and the distance between who they were and who they have to become. Sariah, who had no vision of her own and is asked to trust one anyway. Laman, the eldest son, who had everything coming to him until it didn't. Sam, who believes quietly and without reward. And Nephi - seventeen years old, absolutely certain, and completely unprepared for what certainty costs. A Remnant of Iron is the story behind the scripture. Not a retelling - an excavation. The silences filled, the human faces restored, the faith made flesh. This is what it looked like from the inside.

These are my experiences from my youth up to the present day. My life has been full of ups and downs and I have had many people tell me to write my stories down and share them with others. I laugh and I cry as I write down the many memories I have. Some are very personal but I pray may provide hope for someone facing similar challenges. Especially young people who may struggle with who they are or perhaps they are trying to cope with their parents divorcing or the death of a loved one. I faced all these and more and though very difficult at times, I have found great strength and even joy in my quest to stay positive and never give up. I welcome feedback as to how others have dealt with their challenges and how they find laughter and joy in light of hardship. I am not a skilled writer but I can share in mine own words my story. I hope that those reading will appreciate the stories and look past the lack of a robust vocabulary and any flawed grammar. Thanks for reading! Horace

Going down ... way down. Trying to have a transcendental experience, sixteen-year-old Ann is shocked at the sudden appearance of a dirty moleman from the underworld. Through a stirring object lesson involving a half-eaten Ho Ho (and a bit of trickery), the moleman persuades Ann to follow him to an underground fantasy world. Enter the wacky world of Molemania. The stinky metropolitan city Ann discovers, fueled by stolen power and dominated by American television, turns out to be less than fantastic. She longs to see the light of day again, but the slimy Prince Duthbert (who organized Ann’s kidnapping) won’t keep his claws off her. The plot thickens when Duthbert captures the boy Ann loves and threatens to cast him into a pit full of lava. Either Ann must consent to marry Duthbert or take on the powers of the deep. Follow Ann through the crazy twists and turns of the underworld as she teams up with German bodybuilders, a mystical sage, and an old queen who writes techno music. Discover deadly infernos, giant monsters, and the secrets at the bottom of the earth, where not even molepeople have set foot. This collection of short stories has been described as "cleverly suspense," "thoroughly enlightening," and "thought provoking" in Amazon reviews. The stories are inspired by the culture in which I was born and raised, and in which I live today. Here in the Intermountain West, stretching from Nevada through Utah and into Idaho, is the region sociologists sometimes call the "Mormon Corridor". Interstate Fifteen now runs straight up through this area, through deserts and mountains and grasslands. All along this stretch of busy interstate are the villages, towns and cities built by Mormon Pioneers, and which are still populated largely by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I did not write these stories only for Mormons, but for anyone who enjoys learning about humanity. I hope that everyone who reads it will find it interesting and emotionally satisfying. You may look at the Amazon reviews for an idea about what readers have thought about it so far. READER'S GUIDE: There is no explicit sex, no vulgarity, and although there is death, it is not gory. I treat death with care, even reverence. I also treat my culture and its religion with respect, without heaping overt praise or criticism. I'll be adding a new story every week or two...whenever I remember to do so. The paperback is available on Amazon and most other online retailers. The ebook is available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.

There are no true endings. Only Everlasting Beginnings. -Deither F. Uchtdorf --- This is a story that I really wanted to write. I have some ideas in mind already but still I do not know how I will end it. It is not only a story of love between a man and a woman but also the conversion of a person. Read how Klaire will fall in love again, and how she will find peace in this world. P.S. May I know your insight about this story? thanks!
