Woo! ** -Dark Eyes Melting My Soul - written to @lgbtq's 'Summer of Songs' 2021 prompt (write a song-fic). The title is shamelessly pinched from the song concerned. *Placed first in the contest* -An Awakening - written to @lgbtq's 'Rainbow Magic', Disney-themed prompt. The word limit was 500 to be an eligible entry, but this is way over that so ended up being just for fun. (2021) -At Home - for @mystery's "Case of Pride: different kind of mystery" (2026). The prompts were that a conversation changes things; that someone gets 'seen'; that somewhere unexpectedly feels like home. This is a conversation between two women, at least one of whom hopefully finally feels 'seen' and at home - so take your pick of which bits of the prompt it satisfies. (Word limit: 100) -'Don't see many of you in here...' - a proper dad-joke an unlikely ally told me recently (20/06/26), which is actually about prejudice. It deserves to be shared, and retold, especially at the moment. (But here's to dads, kindly father figures, and their jokes...)

We all know ourselves better than anyone else. We all know our gender, pronouns and sexuality better than anyone else. There's nothing anyone can do or say to change that. Even if we're wrong about our identity, we still know ourselves better than anyone else. What if we don't know what our gender was, what our pronouns were or what our sexuality was? What if we only had a vague idea of what our identity was? Well, the only thing anyone else can do is provide us with relevant labels to try and help steer us in the right direction. This is the exact situation Remmy has found themself in. Remmy may know what his pronouns are (which are he/they) and that he's angled aroace, but he's still unsure of what his gender and sexuality are. The best he can give anyone is that he's transmasc and angled aroace. Not knowing how to help or what he's going through, the best Leon and Felix can do is support Remmy the best they can. After all, Leon and Felix know what it's like to be anything but straight.
