Together, on the run they both find themselves back in maddie's hometown where everything began. Wanting to start afresh, she reunites with all her friends except the one person that really matters. Erik. After witnessing something in which shattered poor maddie's heart, she begins to avoid him like the plague. So unaware that she's returned, life continues on like it has been. But only now, everything's different. There's something changing about maddie and she can't put her finger to it. Not to mention the little girl she's with keeps insisting that everything's okay and that nothing is wrong. But maddie just doesn't know what to believe. There's something brewing in the shadows and maddie can't help but feel it's something sinister....
